We visited this place in September 2018. Kanayankode is one of the most beautiful emerging river side tourist attraction in Kerala. Its one of the few places where we have House Boat service in the Malabar Region.

Unfortunately, there is only House Boat, available in the Kanyankode back waters as of now.

Compared to the house boats that we have in Alappuzha or Kollam, I personally feel, that the one in Kanaykode is not properly maintained. May be because of the limited number of tourists who are visiting this destination.They have both daily and hourly packages available.The house boat has 2 rooms and there is enough space for a group day tour.

An 2 hour trip will take you till Puthencherrry (1 hour each, in both direction)

The Nearest town is Quilandy (around 3-4 Kms)

The House Boat journey through the Back waters is excellent and quite refreshing.

The charges are around 2000/Hour

How to reach the House Boat:

From Quilandy to Kanayakode in Balussery road (SH34), you will find ‘Mytri Road'(on the right side) just 200 meters before the kanayankode bridge. The road from main road till the House Boat station point is very narrow with bends, steep curves and so on. Be extremely careful, if you are going in a big Car. However, you have enough parking space near the House Boat station point.

One Line Summary: Kerala Tourism Department should promote this destination. Once more tourists flows in, we might need more House boats to cater their needs.
